The Technology Division of the American College of Physicians (ACP) is looking to hire a Web Analytics Specialist for our Philadelphia office. ACP, a national organization of internists with headquarters in Philadelphia, is the largest medical specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the United States with more than 152,000 members worldwide. 


The Web Analytics Specialist will be responsible for coordinating the retrieval and analysis of user behavior data in order to inform actionable strategy surrounding ACP's digital properties and associated user experience. The primary responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as the user analytics expert to ensure that usage metrics are tracked and reported consistently and accurately across web properties, including cross-domain activity.
  • Lead design and implementation of customized solutions, e.g., tag management, to meet specific needs that are not addressed with current/standard approaches.
  • Serve as lead staff to conceptually integrate the distributed sources of user analytics across the portfolio of digital properties, including:
    • The numerous *.acponline.org properties tracked via Google Analytics
    • Mobile apps and responsive web applications
    • Vendor-managed and other product-specific, proprietary analytics systems including marketing automation platforms, e.g., Eloqua
  • Develop and execute a strategy for selecting and implementing appropriate tools based on specific business needs; collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that they have the information they need for actionable decision-making.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with at least five years of experience in user behavior data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Specific expertise in advanced Google Analytics configuration and reporting, Google Tag Manager platforms, and related GA-based tools and platforms
  • Knowledge of R (programming language) for customized analysis and reporting as well as extensive experience with at least one standard visualization package, e.g., Google Data Studio, Tableau, Qlik Sense
  • Demonstrated skills in working with a wide range of roles, from technology and product development teams to marketing, to elevate functional knowledge of the application of analytics techniques to solve business challenges
  • Experience aggregating data across multiple data sources, including e-commerce systems and marketing automation platforms; specific experience with Drupal-based site analytics is a plus
