JOB SUMMARY
The VP of Analytics role is a critical role within Hypothesis. This is a senior leadership role internally, managing the BrainTrust team and working closely with our Chief Methodologist and our project teams. In this role, you will also be a trusted advisor to our clients, consulting with them on their business issues and leading the analytics work that informs them. This reports to our Chief Methodologist.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Mentor, encourage, teach and grow BrainTrust team members
- Analytical thought partnership, provide strategic insight and direction based on analytic results
- Work closely with Chief Methodologist, and be a catalyst to implement innovative ideas and new offerings into the normal workflow of the Marketing Science team
- A strong ability to take a brief and create a plan for analytics that will meet clients’ objectives
- Lead efforts to develop and apply advanced analytics for marketing strategy
- Interact with external clients as well as internal teams assessing requests and crafting methodology to address analytical needs
- A strong communicator with the ability to explain complex technical subject matter to non-technical people
- Build strong internal relationships, work alongside client service to deliver the best quality work to our clients
- Effectively manage team assets, ensuring that there is an equitable distribution of work
- Write and present client proposals and explain methodologies
- Guide analysis and can explain a wide range of study types to a client
- Maintain and grow client relationships
- Able to support projects all the way from survey design to reporting
- Conduct reviews of direct reports
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the company

ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Expert knowledge in most of the following:
   o Driver models (e.g. regression, structural equation models, network models, etc.)
   o Segmentation and targeting (clustering, classification)
   o Factor analysis and other multivariate techniques
   o Conjoint, discrete choice and MaxDiff (e.g. Sawtooth Software)
   o Optional: data visualization tools, machine learning, SQL/Python/database, item response theory, econometrics/marketing mix, digital/text analytics, etc.
- Knowledge of SPSS, and R a must; ideally familiar with other marketing science tools
- Excellent leadership, project management, organization and communication skills
- Self-directed and motivated with the willingness & ability to roll up your sleeves and work in either a strategic or executional capacity
- Provides sound advice confidently to clients
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills
- Excellent ability to identify and communicate the relevant “story” within a dataset
- Understands how any one project fits into the larger context of a client’s business
- Accepts the responsibility of being the “final eyes” on the key deliverables
- Mentors others in developing superior skills in themselves
- Fully understands and able to lead projects with complicated methodologies and accurately explain method and findings

REQUIREMENTS
-
BS or MS in statistics, econometrics, predictive analytics, market research, marketing science or related field
- 10+ years’ experience
- Ability to travel up to 15%
